Let's first figure out what combination can provide the 3 μF.

Connecting two capacitors in series will give the capacitance of 1 μF.

So we can connect it in parallel with another capacitor to get a equivalent capacitance of

2 μF + 1 μF = 3 μF

So we require 3 capcacitors which turns out ot be minimum, since other combinations such as two in series and such 3 series combinations in parallel will also give 3 μF, but a total of 6 capacitors will be required.
