Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education

It is an Autonomous Body established under the provisions of the Maharashtra Act No. 41 of 1965. The Board conducts the SSC (Class 10) and HSC (Class 12) examinations in Maharashtra through its nine Divisional Boards located in Pune, Mumbai, Aurangabad, Nasik, Kolhapur, Amravati, Latur, Nagpur and Ratnagiri.

Maharashtra Frequently Asked Questions

The Maharashtra State Board exam for class 10 comprises 5 compulsory subjects - English, Hindi, Social Science, Mathematics and Science. Each paper is 100 marks, divided into 80 marks for theory and 20 for the internal exam.
The Maharashtra State Board does not allow using calculators during any exam.
Students must score at least 28 marks out of 80 to pass any exam under the Maharashtra State Board examination of class 10.
In Maharashtra State Board’s class 10 compartment exams, students need to score a minimum of 35% as passing marks. Those who fail the compartment exam will have to repeat the year and appear for the board exam of 2023-24.
