NCERT Solutions for Class 7 Science
Chapter 1: Nutrition in Plants
This chapter discusses all the important phenomena like the mode of nutrition in plants, photosynthesis and how nutrition reaches the soil.
Chapter 2: Nutrition in Animals
This chapter concentrates on the nutrition quotient in animals. From the human digestive system to digestion of amoeba, consumption of nutrients in animals has been covered in this chapter.
Chapter 3: Fibre and Fabric
The third chapter tells us how people get silk and wool for clothing. It describes the entire journey of the making of silk, the silk moth (its birth, cocoon etc.) and the processing of silk. A similar journey is discussed for wool and how it is obtained from sheep.
Chapter 4: Heat
In this chapter, we learn to differentiate between hot and cold and the measurement of temperature. It also elaborates on a laboratory thermometer and how heat gets transferred. Finally, it talks about the ideal clothing for people during different weather conditions.
Chapter 5: Acids, Bases and Salts
This chapter discusses the acids, bases, salts and natural indicators around us. It also discusses the process of neutralisation.
Chapter 6: Physical and Chemical Changes
Students realise and understand the effects of different physical and chemical changes in this chapter.
Chapter 7: Weather, Climate and Adaptations of Animals to Climate
This chapter discusses climate in depth and how it affects the living beings surviving under those climatic conditions. It observes different climatic conditions like cold, rains etc.
Chapter 8: Winds, Storms and Cyclones
Here, the natural calamities caused by winds, storms and cyclones are discussed. This chapter discusses the extreme kinds of weather which cause damage to property and human life. The chapter opens with the discussion of air and how air behaves under different circumstances.
Chapter 9: Soil
Soil is one of the most important geological features on the Earth. It is the foundation for many things. From soil types and properties, moisture in soil and absorption of water by soil to soil and crops—everything is discussed.
Chapter 10: Respiration in Organisms
This chapter sheds light on the respiration process. It talks about how breathing happens in plants and animals. It also explains the breathing mechanism in fish which swim in water.
Chapter 11: Transportation in Animals and Plants
Through this chapter, we learn about the circulatory system, excretion in animals and transportation of water in plants.
Chapter 12: Reproduction in Plants
The various modes of reproduction are explained in this chapter. Differences between sexual and asexual reproduction and the elements involved in each to facilitate the process are discussed here.
Chapter 13: Motion and Time
This chapter explains the concepts of speed, measurement of time and how to measure speed. A graph is also present in the chapter to show motion in the pictorial form.
Chapter 14: Electric Current and its Effects
This chapter explains the symbols of electronic components and eventually describes the heating effect of electric current, magnetic effect of electric current, electromagnet and electric bell in detail.
Chapter 15: Light
This chapter discusses the journey of light and the concept of reflection of light. Plane mirror, spherical mirror and images formed by lenses are also described in detail.
Chapter 16: Water – A Precious Resource
Water is essential for survival. This chapter sheds light on the importance of water. It discusses the amount of water on the Earth and talks about the importance of groundwater. The chapter also elaborates on how we must use water wisely.
Chapter 17: Forests – Our Lifeline
Forest is essential for our existence and all components of forests are interdependent on each other. Soil, water, air and microorganisms interact with each other in forests. We need to preserve forests for the betterment of our environment.
Chapter 18: Wastewater Story
This chapter emphasises sewage, treatment of pollutant water, wastewater treatment plant, better housekeeping practices, sanitation and disease, alternative arrangement for sewage disposal and sanitation at public places.
