A thin metal plate p is inserted between the plates of capacitors of capacitance C such a way that its edges touch the plates.what will be the new capacitance?

the capacitence will be zero.
Capacitance is the capability of the system to hold charge in itself.
Since when we touch the plates they will be shorted and now no charge will be stored. All will flow away. thus zero capacitance.
