Dear student,

Before the discovery of the atom's structure , it was assumed that the current flows due to the flow of protons. But,
after the atom structure was analysed it was seen that current flows due the electron , but due to previous convention direction of curent was not changed and direction of electron was made oppsite to that of current or previously assumed direction of proton.
