Ship at C is observed with depression angle 60°. Hence ACB = 60°. tan 60° = AB/BC . BC = AB/tan60 = 1200/√3 ≈ 693 m
Ship at D is observed with depression angle 30°. Hence ADB = 30°. tan 30° = AB/BD . BD = AB/tan30 = 1200√3 ≈ 2078 m
