Expert Answer

3x - 5 y = 4 .................... (1)

9x - 2y = 7 ....................(2)

By multiplying eqn.(1) by 3

9 x - 15 y = 12 ................(3)

By subtracting eqn.(2) from eqn.(3) we get

-13y = 5 or y = - 5/13

By substituting y = -5/13 in eqn.(1) , we get

3 x = 4 - (25/13) = 27/13

x = 9/13

-----------------------------

Hene solution to eqn.(1) and (2) is

x = 9/13 ; y = -5/13
