As can be seen from fig1 that incase of push the normal force increases because of F2 ,therefore frictional forces increase ,since force of friction is proportional to normal force.Whereas in case of pull (Fig2) normal forces diminish because F3 is upward so consequently friction force is less,that why its easy to pull rather than push
