Why do only few metals form compounds when they react with hydorgen??

Expert Answer
Metals have tendency to donate electrons.
H is non-metal so it gains electron.
Metals which have more tendency to donate electrons or we can say which can easily donate electron reacts with hydrogen easily (alkali metals, Alaki earth metals)
But other metals are not able toi react because all of them are having less tendency to donate electron.
