Why can't the particles move in same direction after the cracker being explored in mid air instead of spreading in different direction?

This can be explained on the basis of law of conservation of momentum. When due to explosion some particles move in the same particular direction, then in order to conserve momentum, the remaining particles move in the opposite direction.
