what is the difference between centre of mass and centre of gravity?
Asked by anamika09 | 14 Feb, 2011, 06:19: PM
Expert Answer
Dear student
Centre of mass for any system is the point at which the whole of the mass of the body may be considered to be acting for determining the effect of some external force whereas centre of gravity is the point through which the weight of the body acts. It is the point where the whole of the mass of the body may be supposed to be concentrated.
Hope this clarifies your doubt.
