The body is said to be electrically charged in either of the conditions as given below: -
i) Loss of electrons - (np > ne) np - number of protons and ne - number of electrons
In this case, the body carries positive charge.
ii) Gain of electrons - ( ne > np)
In this case, the body carries negative charge.
