tow resistances  r1 and r2 are connected in parallel . total current flowing throgh circuit is i . derive expression for currents flowing thorough tow resistances ?

 Total current flowing through circuit be 'i'
 
Let i1 and i2 be the current flowing through resistors be r1 and r2
 
Thus, 
i = i1 + i2
 
the potential difference V across both resistors is same as the resistors are arranged in parallel combination. 
 
i1 = V/r1
i2 = V/r2 
             ... (By Ohm's law) 
Thus, 
 
i equals V over r subscript 1 plus V over r subscript 2 
i space equals space V open parentheses 1 over r subscript 1 plus 1 over r subscript 2 close parentheses
