Resistance is doubled by folding ? Unable to understand this statement.
 
It is assumed that the question is 6 Ω resistance wire is folded exactly at mid point and it is required to find the resistance afterwards.
 
If 6 Ω resistance wire is folded at mid point , each part of wire is half of its original length ,
 
hence each part of wire has half of resistance , i.e., 3 Ω .
 
When two wires of equal resiatnce 3 Ω are connected parallel , then equivalent resistance becomes 1.5 Ω.
