Resistivity of coductor is the electrical resitance of unit length per unit cross section area .
Resistance R is directly proportional to length L of conductor , i.e., R ∝ L .
Resistance R is inversely proportional to area A of conductor , i.e., R ∝ 1/A .
Hence constant of proportionalty is resistivity that is represented by symbol ρ .
