Torque = MI x Angular Acceleration.
Angular Acceleration = Torque/MI
Hence lower the MI higher will be angular acceleration and higher will be the gain in speed.
The MI of solid cylinder MR2/2 is small compared to that of hollow spherer 2MR2/3.
Solid cylinder to acquire greater speed.
