Expert Answer
consider a flow from a height H to ground level.
we denote the physical quantities with 1 as at ground level and with 2 as at height H
as the fluid flows down
The change in its kinetic energy is:
? K =1/2? ? V(v22? v12)
this equal to:
and change in its potential energy is:
? g ?V(H2-H1)
thus this total energy change is equal tothe work done by pressure difference
thus:
(P1 ? P2) = 1/2 ? (v22 ? v12) + ?g (H2?H1)
this is the equation.
