Let a be acceleration

initial velocity for first second travel , u1 = 0

Distance travelled in first second, S1 = u1 t + (1/2) a t2   = (1/2) a

initial velocity for second second travel , u2 = u1 + a t = a

Distance travelled in first second, S2 =  a+(1/2)a = (3/2) a

Ratio S1 : S2  = (1/2)a : (3/2)a = 1 : 3

At end of 1 second ,  we get ratio of  distances travelled in subsequent interval is 1 : 3
