Why is X-X' bond weaker than X-X bond?

Asked by Shrawani Misra 9th March 2013, 5:37 PM
Answered by Expert
Answer:
This is due to difference in the size of the atoms. Due to ineffective overlapping or due to weaker inter nuclear forces, the bonds tend to be weaker.
