Electric dipole moment: p = q (2a) = 3 x 10-6 x 2 x1 0-3 = 6 x 10-9 Cm

1. Broad side on position of dipole corresponds to a point on the equatorial plane of the dipole.
                                            

So the electric field at a point y = 0.6 m

                         begin mathsize 11px style straight E space equals space fraction numerator straight p over denominator 4 straight pi subscript 0 straight y cubed end fraction space equals space 9 space cross times space 10 to the power of 9 space fraction numerator 6 space cross times space 10 to the power of negative 9 end exponent over denominator left parenthesis 0.6 right parenthesis cubed end fraction space equals space 250 space straight N divided by straight C end style

2. On rotating the dipole through 90o the broad side on position becomes end on that is axial point.
