Consider an equilateral triangle of side l. Point A and B have charges +q where A has -2q charge. The system as two dipoles with begin mathsize 12px style straight p with rightwards arrow on top subscript 1 end style and Syntax error from line 1 column 62 to line 1 column 103. Hence, the magnitude of  begin mathsize 12px style straight p with rightwards arrow on top subscript 1 end style and Syntax error from line 1 column 62 to line 1 column 103. Unexpected 'mathvariant'. are equal to (ql) and the angle between them is 60°. Therefore, the resultant of two is the net dipole moment.

begin mathsize 12px style straight P with rightwards arrow on top space equals space square root of straight P subscript 1 superscript 2 plus straight P subscript 2 superscript 2 plus 2 straight P subscript 1 straight P subscript 2 space cos 60 to the power of 0 end root space equals space square root of straight q squared straight l squared plus straight q squared straight l squared plus 2 straight q squared straight l squared space left parenthesis 1 divided by 2 right parenthesis end root straight P space equals space ql square root of 3 end style
