According to the question,
quadratic equation has two equal roots hence, y = 0
ax2 + bx + c = 0
Condition for equal roots is b2 - 4ac = 0
Comparing given equation with standard form of quadratic equation we get
begin mathsize 16px style straight a equals 1 minus straight q plus straight p squared over 2 comma space straight b equals straight p left parenthesis 1 plus straight q right parenthesis comma space straight c equals straight q left parenthesis straight q plus 1 right parenthesis plus straight p squared over 2
rightwards double arrow open square brackets straight p left parenthesis 1 plus straight q right parenthesis close square brackets squared minus 4 open parentheses 1 minus straight q plus straight p squared over 2 close parentheses open parentheses straight q left parenthesis straight q plus 1 right parenthesis plus straight p squared over 2 close parentheses equals 0
rightwards double arrow straight p to the power of 4 space plus straight p squared left parenthesis 1 plus straight q right parenthesis squared plus 4 straight q left parenthesis 1 minus straight q right parenthesis squared equals 0
Solve space it space for space straight p squared space you space will space get space required space result. end style
