Suppose p and q are real numbers which do not take simultaneously the values p=0, q=1. Suppose the equation
(1-q+p²/2)x² + p(1+q)x + q(p-1) + p²/2=0
has two equalroots. Prove that p²=4q

According to the question,
quadratic equation has two equal roots hence, y = 0
ax2 + bx + c = 0
Condition for equal roots is b2 - 4ac = 0
Comparing given equation with standard form of quadratic equation we get
