AT ANODE:           Zn     +       2OH-        ZnO(s)      +     H2O (l)     + 2e-
AT CATHODE:     HgO (s) +   H2O (l)   + 2e-      Hg (l) + 2OH-
NET REACTION:   Zn (Hg) + HgO(s)  ZnO(s)    +   Hg (l)
