Expert Answer
let actual age is x years
Given : square of ( actual age - 5 years) is 11 more than 5 times of her actual age, Hence (x-5)2 = 5x+11 ......(1)
Eqn. (1) is simplified as, x2 -10x +25 = 5x + 11 or x2 -15x +14 = 0 .....................(2)
LHS of eqn.(2) is factorised and eqn.(2) is rewritten as, (x-14)(x-1) = 0 ..............(3)
acceptable solution is x = 14.
Hence actualage is 14 years
