CBSE Class 10 Answered

I am confused in the question 'Determine the number nearest to 110000 but greater than 100000 which is exactly divisible by each 8,15 and 21 ? In books the answer is given 109200 but I think 110040 should be the answer as it is more nearer to 110000.           ( 840×131=110040) Please expert help me out!

begin mathsize 16px style Hi space Ananya comma
The space number space which space is space divisble space by space 8 comma space 15 space and space 21 space will space be space the space LCM thin space of space 8 comma space 15 space and space 21.
Find space that. space You space will space get space your space LCM thin space to space be space 840.
Then space divide space 110000 space by space 840 comma space and space you space will space straight a space remainder space of space 800.
So comma space the space number space that space will space be space divisible space by space 840 space equals 110000 minus 800 space left parenthesis that space is space the space remainder right parenthesis equals 109200
So comma space this space is space the space number.

Now space even space 110040 space is space straight a space number space which space is space exactly space divisible space by space 8 comma space 15 space and space 21.
However comma space by space nearest space to space 110000 comma space the space question space means space it space is space approaching space 110000 comma space that space is space it space is space less space than space 110000.

straight I space understand space the space framing space seems space tricky. space However comma space that space is space the space actual space meaning space of space the space question space Ananya. end style

That is the main reason why they also said greater than 100000. Hope this clears your doubt.
