ICSE Class 10 Answered
At what angle should a ray of light be incident on the face of a 60 degree prism so that the ray just passes grazingly along the interface AC?if the angle of refraction at face AB is 19 degree,find the angle of incidence at face AC.Give its specific name.

Expert Answer
For refraction through prism
Angle of deviation is given by δ = I + e - A
Where δ is angle of deviation
I is angle if incident
e is angle of emergence (this is the specific name)
A is prism angle
Putting all the values we get
60 = 30 + e - 60
e = 90 degree.
