To find the acceleration a from the displacements made by object at two time durations ,
Let us use the equation of motion " S = u t + (1/2) a t2 " , where S is displacement ,
u is initial speed , t is time duration and a is acceleration .

if displacement made in 5 s is 65 m , then

65 = 5 u + (1/2 ) a × 25

From above expression we get ,  u + 2.5 a = 13  .......................... (1)

If displacement made in 9 s is 81 m , then

105 = 9 u + (1/2) a * 81

From above expression we get , u + 4.5 a = 11.67  ........................(2)

By subtracting eqn.(1) from eqn.(2) , we get ,

2a = -1.33   or  a = - 0.667 m/s2
