An object moves with constant acceleration
and covers a distance of 65 m in 5 s and 105 m
in 9 s. So find the acceleration.

To find the acceleration a from the displacements made by object at two time durations ,
Let us use the equation of motion " S = u t + (1/2) a t2 " , where S is displacement ,
u is initial speed , t is time duration and a is acceleration .
if displacement made in 5 s is 65 m , then
65 = 5 u + (1/2 ) a × 25
From above expression we get , u + 2.5 a = 13 .......................... (1)
If displacement made in 9 s is 81 m , then
105 = 9 u + (1/2) a * 81
From above expression we get , u + 4.5 a = 11.67 ........................(2)
By subtracting eqn.(1) from eqn.(2) , we get ,
2a = -1.33 or a = - 0.667 m/s2
