Average speed 48 km/hr = 48 × (5/18) = 40/3 m/s

time of travel = distance / (average speed )

If distance travelled is 200 m with speed 40/3 m/s , then time of travel = 200 / (40/3)  s = 15 s .

If half of the distance travelled with speed 40 km/hr = 40 × (5/18) =  (100/9 ) m/s ,

then time to travel 100 m distance = distance/ speed = 100 / (100/9) s = 9 s

Hence remaining 100 m distance is travelled in 6 s .

Hence speed v =  (100 /6 ) m/s  = (100/6 ) × (18/5) = 60 km/hr
