Expert Answer:

Nutrition is the process of taking in and use of food and nutrients by the body. This food is broken down to simpler constituents which are then absorbed and utilised by the body. The nutrients are used to release energy whereby the various functions of our body like movement, thinking, maintaining homeostasis etc. can be carried out. In addition we need nutrients for building the various parts of our body, thus enabling the growth and repair of our body.
