Exothermic reactions release energy, while endothermic reactions absorb energy.
Photosynthesis is an endothermic reaction because plants absorb energy in the form of sunlight during this process.
During photosynthesis, plants use the sun's energy to convert carbon dioxide and water into glucose and oxygen. This reaction requires 15MJ of energy (sunlight) for every kilogram of glucose produced.
