why doesnt a bird sitting on a wire with different potential differences does not get a shock

If a bird sits on a wire with one foot on one wire and the other foot on another wire that is at a different potential, then it will indeed get a shock. At times birds with very huge wings also get electrocuted as their wings touch the wires.
