Will a current carrying conductor produce an electric field?

Expert Answer
Current passisng through coductor produce magnetic field.
Current passes through the conductor due to the presence of electric field in the conductor .
Electrical potential difference is applied acorss the coductor .
Electric field is potential difference per unit distance.
Hence applied electric field causes the current to pass through it.
Current does not produce electric field , but it produces magnetic field.
