CBSE Class 10 Answered
why does need to maintain the current in a given electric circuit by expanding its energy stored in it?

When the cell is connected to a conductor, the potential difference moves the charges in the conductor, producing an electric current. The cell must use its chemical energy to maintain the current in the circuit. A potential difference across the ends of the circuit is maintained by the cell. As a result, current flows from one end of the circuit to the other.
