Volt is SI unit of electrical potential difference between two points.
 
Potential difference between two points equals the workdone to move a unit electrical charge across these points.
 
Volt is workdone in Joules to move 1 Coulomb charge between the given two pints
 
Volt = 1 J / 1 C
