what the use of coefficients in equating quantities which are proportional to each other. how are the values of these coefficients or universal constants obtained?plz give an example .

The quantities proportional to each other are related with the help of a coefficient to provide the scale characteristics to the quantities involved, i.e. to find out to what scale one quantity changes wrt a change in another quantity.
The values of these coefficients are determined on the basis of experimental measurements such that they verify physical theories as well, i.e. the experimental data should confirm with the theoretical predictions.
