What is dimerisation?
Asked by Biju Jacob | 2nd Apr, 2013, 09:51: PM
Polymerisation occurs when a number of molecules join together to form a product.
Similarly, dimerisation occurs when two molecules join together.
It is any chemical reaction in which two monomers react to form a dimer. For ex: Borane (BH3) occurs as the dimer diborane (B2H6).
