The value of 'x' and 'y' when x+y=6 and x-y=10
a) (8,-2) b) (-2,8) c) (8,2) d) (2,8)

x+y = 6 ..................... (1)
x-y = 10 .....................(2)
by adding eqn.(1) and eqn.(2), we get
2 x = 16 or x = 8
by substituting x = 8 in eqn.(1) , we get , 8 + y = 6 or y = -2
Hence solution to the equations (1) and 92) is , x = 8 , y = -2
