Tell me about the functions of liver?

Liver performs many functions in our body. Some of the important ones are:
i) It produces bile, an alkaline compound which aids in digestion through the emulsification of fats.
ii) it converts excess glucose into glycogen for storage.
iii) detoxification - clearing the blood of drugs and other poisonous substances.
iv) it resists infections by producing immune factors and removing bacteria from the bloodstream.
v) it carries out decomposition of red blood cells and processes hemoglobin for use of its iron content . Liver stores iron.
vi) it synthesis certain proteins for blood plasma.
vii) it also regulates blood clotting.
