Newton's third law of motion is known as law of action and reaction. Its states that to every action, there is always an equal and opposite reaction i.e., the forces of action and reaction are always equal and opposite. These forces act on two different objects and never cancel each other.
Eg. While walking, we push the ground backward with our foot. As a reaction ground pushes our foot forward.
While swimming, we push the water backwards. As a reaction water pushes us forward.
