i) Blood transports gases like oxygen and carbon dioxide between lungs and different tissues of
the body. This is how it helps in respiration.
ii) Blood also transports nutrients from food, hormones and waste materials to different
parts of the body.
iv) Other important functions of blood are clotting of blood and protection against diseases
