Since the wire is streatched it's length will increase, but volume will remain the same

A1L1 = A2L2

L2 = 1.25L1

Therefore, A1/A2 = L2/L1 = 1.25

R1/R2 = L1A2/(A1L2) = 1/(1.25x1.25)

R2 = 1.25x1.25R1

= 1.5625R1.

= R1 + 0.5625R1

Resistance will increase by 56.25% and resistivity will remain unchanged.
