Q-Use the method of substitution to solve each other of the pair of simultaneous equation 1} x+4y=-4 and 3y-5x=-1
Asked by karanbora625 | 19 Apr, 2020, 02:00: PM
x + 4y = -4
x = -4 - 4y .... (1)
3y - 5x= -1 .... (2)
Substituting the value of x in (2), we get
3y - 5(-4 - 4y) = -1 ... from (1)
→3y + 20 + 20y = -1
→ 23y = -21
→ y = -21/23
From (1),
x = -4 - 4(-21/23) = -4 + 84/23 = -8/23
