Plz explain:-The lungs always contain a residual volume of air so that there is sufficient time for oxygen to be absorbed and the carbon dioxide to be released.

Residual volume is the volume of air which remains still in the lungs after the most forceful expiration. It is vital for the process of respiration to take place.
