Parasitic nutrition or parasitism is a mode of heterotrophic nutrition where an organism (known as a parasite) lives on the body surface or inside the body of another living organism (known as a host). The parasite obtains nutrition directly from the body of the host. Since these parasites derive their nourishment from their host, this symbiotic interaction is often harmful to the host. Parasites are dependent on their host for survival since the host provides nutrition and protection. E.g. tapeworms, fleas, and barnacles.

Holozoic nutrition is the process by which an organism intakes a complex food item in solid or liquid forms within its body and that undergoes certain processes within the body and gets converted into simpler forms and finally is absorbed into our body. This simpler substance is then used for obtaining energy. The steps in this process include ingestion, digestion, absorption, assimilation, and egestion.

Nutrition in humans is holozoic as they intake complex food materials which are digested, assimilated and absorbed by the body. The undigested wastes are eliminated by the body.
Humans do not follow parasitic nutrition.
