Respiratory system consists of the nostrils, pharynx, larynx, trachea, bronchi, bronchioles and lungs. Air is taken in through the mouth and nose through the nasal cavity. Air gets filtered through the hair and mucus in the nasal cavity. This air then passes through pharynx, larynx, trachea and then into lungs via the bronchi. Trachea rae supported by cartilagenous rings which prevents it from collapsing. Within the lungs, bronchi divides into smaller bronchioles which finally terminate in balloon like alveoli. The walls of alveoli contain an extensive network of blood vessels.
