x2 – ax + b = 0
Let x1 and x2 be the roots of the quadratic equation.
x1 + x2 = a and x1x2 = b
According to the question,
x1 - x2 = 1
Using
(x1 - x2)2 = (x1 + x2)2 - 4x1x2
we get
a2 - 4b = 1
