The electronic configurations are:
1) Sn - 2, 8, 18, 18, 4
2) Pb - 2, 8, 18, 32, 18, 4
3) Fe - 2, 8, 14, 2
4) Ag - 2, 8, 18, 18, 1
When an atom with electron orbital is full or half-full (or empty) is most stable.
The most stable 2+ oxidation state is shown by Lead (Pb) due to ‘inert pair effect’ phenomenon.
