how can find the number of neutrons

Dear Student,
Subtracting the atomic number from the atomic mass yields the number of neutrons in an atom.
The periodic table contains both of these numbers. The mass number is provided below the element's symbol, while the atomic number is listed above.
For example, in case of oxygen, atomic number is eight and its atomic mass is 16 atomic mass units (amu).
We will obtain 8 by deducting 8 from 16. It should be remembered that an element's neutron count can change.
The isotopes of certain elements differ in mass and, consequently, in the number of neutrons they contain.
