(i) Nephron is the unit of excretory system (kidneys) whereas neuron is the functional unit of nervous system.
(ii) The neuron is only a single cell whereas the nephron a made up of many many cells of different types.
(iii) A neuron is a single cell that has a long process called an axon along which it can conduct an action potential wheras nephron consists of a twisted tubule closed at one end, open at the other with a network of associated blood vessels.
