Dear Student
Force on the rod depends on the magnetic field direction
1)The External magnetic field magnetic field
2)There is induced magnetic field due to presence of cirrent I.
depends on the 1),2) rod moves to right or left parellel ti I
3)Because of the motion of the rod there is induced emf and current which opposes the inintial current I according to Lenz 's Law.
Because of 1,2 rod will accelerate and it will move with a steady velocity because of 3.
